Bay of Islands Aero Club

Our mission is to foster a passionate community of aviators in the Bay of Islands

The club is based at Kerikeri Airport, and caters for both Microlight and General Aviation (PPL) flying. We have club rooms and hangarage for two aircraft. Currently the Club has in excess of thirty active members, many of whom own their own aircraft. Our aircraft are flown by suitably qualified instructors and club members.

The Young Eagles programme could be the start of your lifelong aviation adventure! Each month, we host events giving 14–18 year-olds hands-on flying and aviation-related experiences. Join us to discover the diverse, exciting careers available to motivated individuals in aviation. Our monthly programme includes:

  • Introductory flights in one of our aircraft
  • Tours of the terminal, apron, and fire service
  • Getting up close with Air NZ aircraft
  • Q&A sessions with aviation professionals
  • Introductions to radio, navigation, and more
